Join the Spoke Sisters for a ride. We are a welcoming group of women who love riding mountain bikes and share our passion with others. We are a women only group focusing on building friendship and confidence on bikes.
We welcome anyone, from beginners wanting to give it a go to more advanced riders who might want to meet other riders and have fun riding bikes with other people. We are not a racing crew and we wait for everyone so don't be afraid to come even if you think you ride slowly!
Hi, my name is Audrey, Born in the French Alps, I moved permanently to New Zealand in 2015, which is when my mountain bike journey began.
I spent the initial years, I took a few lessons (not nearly enough), riding timidly and trying to follow the “boys”. It was after connecting with a group of supportive girls, each possessing different strengths we learnt new skills from one another- and my my riding stepped up to new levels. Now without any doubt I was fully endoctrinated into the world of mountain biking, ready to learn more and progress even further. Race entries were my next challenge, albeit completely out of my comfort zone. I was able to progress a lot in a short amount of time, though I admit there might have been a few temper tantrums, and decent crashes along the way.
Attaining my qualification as a mountain bike instructor in 2020, I started instructing groups of new riders, adults, and kids alike at Christchurch Adventure Park. This is was the beginning of a new adventure that made me realise that I loved sharing my passion for everything bike and coaching riders of all ages to have a great time. Fast forward a couple of years of coaching and racing, I then understand firsthand that there was alot more to being a good rider and having fun was more than simply knowing the skills.
I created Be-Spoke to share with you all that I have learned across my last 8 years riding. From making lots of mistakes whilst training for races, to knowing what strength training and nutrition will take your riding to the next level. The Be-Spoke programs have been specifically designed to allow you the choice of how you want to train, at what pace and for what purpose.
