Group training rides - Level Up Sessions

Welcome to our Level Up Sessions at Crocodile XC Mountain Bike Park! Our two 6-week programs are designed to gently progress your skills, with bite-sized lessons, in-session practice, all that in a small group of max 6 riders. These sessions are WOMEN ONLY and the environment super supportive.

Objectives

  • Learn key bike skills to be confident on the bike
  • Progress each week without getting overwhelmed
  • Build a little bit more stamina as we practice
  • Get out for a ride and have fun learning new things
  • Build your confidence riding with a group of supporting riders

Starting week of 29th January 2024, we're hosting a weekly skills session at Crocodile XC Mountain Bike Park to help you turbocharge your biking skills! 🚴‍♀️🎉
We've got two fantastic sessions lined up for you every week*:

  • Mondays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM - Level 2/3
  • Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM - Level 3/4

We've designed the sessions into two 6-week programs that has gentle progression in mind. Each week, we break down the skills into bite-sized chunks, making it easier for you to absorb and remember. And the best part? We'll take some time during the session to practice what we've learned while it's still fresh in your mind!
But here's the secret sauce: we recommend spending a bit of time practicing on your own (or gather a group of biking buddies 😉). That way, you can make these new skills stick and have them become second nature. 🚵‍♂️

Each session is 1.5 hours long and will a mix of skills on the flat and on trail skills learning. Don't worry; all skill levels are welcome! 🌟 Expect some gentle uphill and downhill riding - no need to be an Olympic sprinter, but a bit of stamina won't hurt (and if you need to walk uphill, that's totally cool 😉).

We've got exciting skill-focused sessions for you, and while we've designed it as a progressive journey, you can hop in at any point. Just keep in mind that some of the later sessions assume you've got the basics down.
Our Level 2/3 sessions are open to Level 2 riders looking to progress to Level 3 and Level 3 riders wanting to reinforce their basics. Our Level 3/4 sessions are aimed at riders with solid foundations and confortably tackling Level 3 trails ready to supercharge their techniques and push their boundaries.
Level 2: Rider has a bit of experience riding on uneven tracks but with very little roots or rocks (e.g. Bottle Lake Forest or McLeans Island)
Level 3: Rider is keen to ride up and downhill, can already ride most green and easy blue trails but are not taking wheels off the ground and can only ride moderately steep or techy terrain.
Level 4: Rider can ride most trails and steeper terrain, can do medium size drops and jumps.

* Minimum number of participants applies. Spaces are limited to 6 riders per session, pre-booking for each session is essential.

Level 2/3:
Here's what's on our fun menu each week:

  • 🚵‍♀️ Week 1: Bike Ballet - Master bike control, brakes, and gears for ultimate traction.
  • 🚴‍♂️ Week 2: Trail Maestro - Learn to pick the perfect path uphill and downhill.
  • 🌟 Week 3: Corner Carving 101 - Ace those corners.
  • 🤙 Week 4: Bike-Body Tango - Get groovy with bike-body separation.
  • 🌀 Week 5: Corner Carnaval - Elevate your cornering skills (after acing Bike-Body separation).
  • 🐢 Week 6: Slow-Motion Show - Tackle steep rolls with finesse (Level 3 experience preferred).

Level 3/4:
Here's what's on our fun menu each week:

  • 🚵‍♀️ Week 1: Mastering the Up and Downhill Dance: Tackling tricky terrain like roots and rock gardens with confidence!
  • 🚴‍♂️ Week 2: Cornering Chronicles: Navigating those tighter switchbacks with finesse - are you up for the challenge?
  • 🌟 Week 3: Getting Techy with It: Embracing steeper and more technical terrain!
  • 🤙 Week 4: Cornering Challenge Continued: Conquering those steeper switchbacks.
  • 🌀 Week 5: Small Drops 101: Dipping your toes into the world of small drops.
  • 🐢 Week 6: Jumping Juniors: Taking your first leap into the world of small jumps - it's like flying, but closer to the ground 😉!

Please note that these sessions will be held outside and will be weather dependent, if a session can't be held, we will aim to find another day that suits the majority of the group to re-schedule the session. Sessions cancelled by clients less than 24hr before session are non refundable unless due to coach unavailability.

Cost

Cost per person for 6 sessions concession card: $275 (get one session free)

Cost per person for 1-off session: $55

Riding days

Week 1 sessions start on week commencing 29th Jan 23

  • Mondays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM - Level 2/3
  • Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM - Level 3/4
